Introduction
The Direct Connect Interface allows direct on-site communication between a
computer and a Digiplex control panel or a Magellan system.

Installation and Setup
DGP-848 Hardware Installation
Connect the 4-pin connector cable of the 306 Adapter to the 4-pin connector
labeled " / " on the DGP-848 control panel. Connect the Standard

DB-9 cable of the 306 Adapter to the desired COM port on the computer as
shown in Figure 1.
DGP-NE96 Hardware Installation
Connect the 4-pin connector cable of the 306 Adapter to the 4-pin connector
labeled " " on the DGP-NE96 control panel. Connect the

Standard DB-9 cable of the 306 Adapter to the desired COM port on the
computer as shown in Figure 1.
Magellan Hardware Installation
Connect the 4-pin connector cable of the 306 Adapter to the 4-pin end of the
4- to 10-pin cable. Then connect the 10-pin end of the 4- to 10-pin cable to
the back of the Magellan console. Connect the Standard DB-9 cable of the
306 Adapter to the desired COM port on the computer as shown in Figure 2.
WinLoad Setup
The COM port that the 306 Adapter is connected to on the computer must be
defined in WinLoad. Start WinLoad and then make sure that all client
accounts are closed. From the menu bar click Setup
then click the Direct connection tab. Click the COM port to which the 306
Adapter is connected. When finished, click Close.
NEware Setup (DGP-NE96 only)
The COM port that the 306 Adapter is connected to on the computer must be
defined in NEware. Start NEware by clicking on Start
NEware and the appropriate edition. From the connection window,
click Communication Setup, click the COM port to which the 306 Adapter
is connected and then select the communication speed (BPS - baud rate).
Note: Be sure to select the same baud rate as set in the control panel.
When finished, click OK.
