when installing hitch
1.
Remove taillight covers- Open tailgate. Using plastic trim tools, remove plastic cover near taillight from both sides. Then using a T30 star driver, remove (2) screws holding the taillight
housing, driver side. Using T25 and T30 star driver, remove (2) screws attached to fascia, see Figure 4. Repeat steps on passenger side.

Remove rear bumper fascia - a.) Remove heat shields -On the underside of vehicle, driver side. Using a T25 star driver, remove 5 screws and remove heat shield. Repeat steps on passenger
side. Set fasteners and heat shield aside to be reinstalled.
b.) Underside of rear bumper fascia arear - Using a T25 star driver remove (4) button head screws from underside of bumper fascia. Set fasteners and heat shield aside to be reinstalled.
c.) Rear wheel well area - Starting on driver side. Using a T25 star driver remove (4) screws from rear side of wheel well. Repeat for passenger side. Set fasteners aside to be reinstalled.
d.) License Plate area - Using a T25 star driver remove (2) screws. Set fasteners aside to be reinstalled.
e.) Using a plastic trim tool, partially remove the fascia by gently pulling rearward while releasing the clips of the wheel well trim. Only remove as far as shown in Figure 2
f.) Using a T25 star driver, pulling back the wheel well trim, remove (2) screws from both sides. See Figure 2
g.) Carefully disconnect all wiring harnesses from fascia and safely set fascia aside.

Remove bumper beam – Using a 18mm socket with extension, remove (6) M12 bolts. Return bumper beam and support band to owner. Keep bolts for hitch installation. See Figure 1.
4.
Install Hitch - Raise hitch into position aligning holes with studs in end panel. See Figure 1. Loosely reinstall the (8) existing M12 bolts into end panel. Tighten all M12-1.50 CL8.8 fasteners
with torque wrench to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N*M)
5.
Trim fascia –Locate the center of the fascia. Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, cut a notch in the bottom of fascia approximately 4'' wide by 4" tall.
See Figure 3. Note: Be sure area is clear of all electrical wiring before trimming.
6.
Reinstall fascia – Reconnect all wiring first. Then reinstall the fascia using original hardware removed in steps 1 and 2.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should
be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
