2.3) CHECKING THE CONTENTS

The packing carton of the FA-520 power supply unit should contain:
1 This installation manual
1 FA 520 power supply unit
1 Plastic bag containing:
6 3-way connectors Ref. 9018302
18 connector terminals Ref. 9018018
NOTE: A support can be supplied as an option with a rapid fixing device which aids its
removal and replacement. This support is highly recommended to aid installation of the
supply unit in the vehicle (description: rapid fixing support I, Ref. 8232010).

2.4) IMPORTANT REMARKS

The FA 520 power supply unit is not waterproof. It will preferably be installed below
the dashboard, below a seat, in the boot, etc. We do not recommend it to be installed in the
engine compartment. If there is no other alternative, it will be necessary to find a place
which does not receive splashes of water and which is far from sources generating heat.
The electrical wiring is carried out in accordance with one of the 3 wiring diagrams
which appear at the end of this manual, depending on whether 4, 2 or 1 strobe lights are
connected (Pages 12, 13 and 14).
Do not reverse the polarity of the power cables.
Terminal 1 of connector J1: POSITIVE BATTERY
Terminal 2 of connector J1. NEGATIVE BATTERY
If the polarity has been reversed, it will be necessary to replace the 15 A fuse in the
power supply unit.
