INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Setting measurement start speed
Set the display quenching speed, which indicates that the user should stop accelerating the wheel.
Setting range: 100-130 rpm.
DIAGNOSTICS
Inconsistent unbalance readings
• In some cases, when a wheel that has just been balanced is repositioned on the wheel balancer, the machine
detects an unbalance. This is not due to a machine problem; it is the result of faulty mounting of the wheel on
the flange. In other words, when mounting the wheel after initial balancing, it has taken another position with
respect to the wheel balancer shaft axis.
• If the wheel has been mounted on the flange by means of screws, these may not have been tightened
correctly (criss-cross sequence), or the tolerances of the holes drilled in the wheel may be too large. Small
errors, up to 10 grams, are to be considered normal in wheels locked with the proper cone. The error is
normally greater for wheels locked with screws or studs.
• If, after balancing, the wheel is still unbalanced when refitted on the vehicle, this could be due to an
unbalanced brake drum or, very often, the tolerances of the holes drilled in the rim and drum are too large. In
this case, balancing might be required, using a wheel balancer with the wheel mounted on the vehicle.

Alarm signals

The machine has a self-diagnostics cycle which identifies the most frequent malfunctions during the normal
work cycle.
These malfunctions are processed by the system and shown on the display; e.g.:
NB: The information in the "POSSIBLE REMEDY" column involves work to be performed by trained
technicians or other authorised staff, who must always wear such personal protective equipment as stated in
the installation manual while working.
In case of failures, please contact the supplier for assistance.
ERROR
CAUSE
Black
The wheel balancer does not switch
on.
Err. 1
No rotation signal.
Err. 2
Speed too low during detection.
During the unbalance measurement
revolutions, the wheel speed has
fallen below 42 rpm..
POSSIBLE REMEDY
1. Check that the machine is properly connected to the mains power
supply.
2. The CPU board may have broken down.
1. Use the self-diagnostics function to check the encoder.
2. The CPU board may have broken down.
1. Make sure that a vehicle wheel has been mounted on the wheel
balancer.
2. Use the self-diagnostics function to check the encoder.
3. Detach the measuring head connector from the board and perform
a spin (if no error is detected, replace the measuring heads).
4. The CPU board may have broken down.
