WARNING
Read all instructions and warnings before using this safety
hat. Failure to follow these instructions and warnings may
result in serious personal injury, including death.
IMPORTANT
For adequate protection, this hat must fit or be adjusted to
the size of the user's head. The hat is made to absorb the
energy of a blow by partial destruction or damage to the
shell and the harness, and even though such damage may
not be readily apparent, any hat subjected to severe impact
should be replaced. The attention of the user is also drawn
to the danger of modifying or removing any of the original
component parts of the hat, other than as recommended
by the manufacturer. Hats should not be adapted for the
purpose of fitting attachments in any way not recom-
mended by the manufacturer. Do not apply paint, solvents,
adhesives or self-adhesive labels, except in accordance
with instructions from the manufacturer.
USE
This industrial safety hat is intended to provide the user
with protection against impact and penetration on top of
the head for type 1 helmets and on top and sides for type 2.
FITTING
To adjust size, tighten the headband so that the safety hat
does not slip off your head of its own weight when bending
over, and when nodding your head up and down or side to
side. The ratchet suspension is tightened or loosened by
turning the ratchet knob.
INSTALLATION / REPLACEMENT OF SUSPENSION
Remove the suspension by hand, by unclipping the
four (4) attachment tabs from the shell. Inspect all elements
of the safety hat and replace any worn or damaged parts.
To reinstall the suspension, pass the attachment tabs
through the openings in the inner shell, and then slide the
tabs fully into the corresponding shell cavities, until fully
engaged. Check if harness is properly attached by lugging
sharply on each strap. Some models have a foam inner
shell: Make sure that it is properly seated in the shell before
clipping the suspension.
INSPECTION
Shell and suspension should be visually inspected before
each use for signs of dents, cracks, penetration and
damage due to impact, rough treatment or wear that
might reduce the degree of protection originally provided.
A damaged hat, with defective parts, or which has received
a severe impact, should be removed from service.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
Shell and suspension should be scrubbed with a mild
detergent and rinsed in clear water approximately at 60 °C
(140 °F). After rinsing, hat components should be carefully
inspected for any signs of damage.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Store and carry in the original box, in a cool and shaded
environment, away from direct sunlight. Should not be stored
and carried on the rear window shelf of an automobile.
SERVICE LIFE
The service life of this safety hat will depend on use, care
and storage. Refer to the "Inspection", "Cleaning and
disinfection" and "Storage and transportation" sections.
AVERTISSEMENT

IMPORTANT
Pour une protection adéquate, ce casque doit s'ajuster ou
être ajusté à la tête de l'utilisateur. Ce casque est conçu
de telle sorte que l'énergie développée lors d'un choc est
absorbé par la destruction partielle de la coquille et du
harnais ; même si de telles détériorations ne sont pas
immédiatement apparentes, il est recommandé de rempla-
cer tout casque ayant subi un choc important. L'attention
de l'utilisateur est attiré sur le danger qu'il y aurait à modi-
fier ou à supprimer l'un quelconque des éléments d'origine
à l'exception de ceux recommandés par le fabriquant du
casque. Le casque ne doit en aucun cas être adapté pour la
fixation d'accessoires selon un procédé non recommandé
par le fabricant du casque. Ne pas appliquer de peinture,
solvant, adhésifs ou étiquettes autocollantes, à l'exception
de ceux recommandés par le fabricant du casque.
UTILISATION
Ce type de casque protège l'utilisateur contre les chocs
et la pénétration d'objets sur le dessus de la tête pour les
casque de type 1 et sur le dessus et les côtés pour les
casque de type 2.
AJUSTEMENT
Pour adapter le casque à la taille de tête, serrer le harnais
serre-tête afin d'éviter que le casque ne soit entraîné par
son propre poids lorsque l'utilisateur se penche ou lorsqu'il
secoue la tête de haut en bas ou de droite à gauche. Pour
effectuer le réglage de la suspension à rochet, serrer ou
desserrer le harnais serre-tête au moyen du bouton à rochet.
