USING YOUR GRILL

Take care around hot surfaces. The hot plates get VERY
HOT. DO NOT touch any parts until completely cooled.
Steam will escape from all around the grill during cooking.
Never leave your grill unattended while in use.
1. Always fully unwind the power cord from the cord storage area
of the grill before use. Check that the cord is not overhanging
the work surface.
2. Insert the drip tray into the slot at the rear of the grill. The drip
tray collects excess fat. Do not use your grill without the drip
tray in place.
3. Close the lid and insert the plug into the mains supply socket
and switch the socket on. The green power light will come on.
4. Select the required temperature using the temperature control.
5. Allow the grill to preheat in the closed position until the amber
ready light comes on.
6. Lift the lid and place the food onto the bottom plate.
7. Lower the lid. The top cooking plate is a floating plate that is
designed to gradually press down on the food during cooking.
Grill the food until golden brown and cooked thoroughly. The
exact grilling time will be a matter of taste. It will also depend
on the type and thickness of your food. Refer to the Cooking
Guidelines section for more information.
8.
When you have finished cooking, use a tea towel or oven glove
to carefully lift the lid, being careful of escaping steam.
9. Remove the food using non-metallic utensils. Never use
metal tongs or a knife as these can cause damage to the
DuraCeramic
coating.
10. Unplug your grill from the mains supply socket. Do not leave the
grill plugged in if it is empty or unattended.
11. Slide out the drip tray and discard the contents after each use.
USING YOUR GRILL OPENED OUT
Allow your grill to cool completely. Open your grill out
so that both plates are flat before switching the unit on and
pre‑heating the cooking plates.
1. Insert the drip tray into the slot at the rear of the grill. When
in position, the drip tray will collect the excess fat from both
cooking plates.
2. Press the hinge release button, then lift the lid.
3. Continue to lift the lid while gently lowering into a flat, horizontal
position (fig. 1).
4. Insert the plug into the mains supply socket and switch the
socket on. The green power light will come on.
5. Select the required temperature using the temperature control.
6. Allow the grill to preheat until the amber ready light comes on.
7. Place food on either or both of the cooking plates. Grill the food
until golden brown and cooked thoroughly. The grilling time
will depend on the type and thickness of your food. Note that
cooking food on the open grill may take longer than when the
grill lid is closed.
CLEANING
Unplug and switch off your grill and allow it to fully cool
down before cleaning it. Do not immerse the main body, cord
set or plug in water or liquid of any kind. Never use steel wool,
scouring pads, abrasive cleaners or metallic utensils to clean
your grill.
Always ensure that the cooking elements on the underside of
the cooking plates are thoroughly dry before re‑inserting into
position on the grill.
1. Wipe the cooking plates with an absorbent paper or soft damp
cloth.
2. Clean the outside of your grill with a soft damp cloth. The cover
can be polished with a soft dry cloth.
3. Lift the lid to a 90 degree position. Press the plate release
buttons and remove them by gently sliding the plates off the
grill (fig. 2).
4. Immerse the cooking plates in warm, soapy water. Rinse with
clean water. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
Note: We recommend that you wash the grill plates by hand
only, in order to preserve the DuraCeramic
5. Ensure that the cooking plates are correctly re-inserted by
aligning the plate guides with the clips, and pushing the plates
gently to lock them into position.
STORAGE
1. Allow the grill to cool fully before storing and ensure that the
unit is clean.
2. Close the lid, and insert the drip tray into the slot at the rear of
the unit.
3. Wrap the cord in the cord storage area at the rear of the unit.
4. Store the unit on a flat, level surface, away from the edge and
where it cannot be easily knocked over.
