b) DC Current Measurements
1) Set the function switch to the DCA range.
2) Press the ZERO key to reset the display.
3) Press the trigger to open the jaws.
4) Enclose the conductor to be measured. Remember: the jaws must be fully closed.
5) Read the DCA value on the LCD.
c) Non-contact Voltage Measurements
WARNING
Risk of electrocution. Before use you should always test the voltage detector on a known live circuit to
verify proper operation of the meter
1) Hold the probe against the hot conductor or against the hot side of the electrical outlet..
2) The two detector LEDs light up red if an AC voltage is detected.
NOTE: The conductors in an electrical cord are often twisted. Rub the probe tip along a length of cord to be sure the
tip passes in close proximity to the live conductor.
NOTE: The detector is a sensitive device. Static electricity or a different energy source may randomly trigger the
sensor at random. This is simply part of the normal operation of this device, it is not a malfunction.
d) Frequency Measurements
1) Put the function switch in the Hz-position.
2) Close the jaws completely around the conductor to be measured.
3) Read the frequency value on the LCD.
e) Flashlight
Hold the top button to turn on the flashlight.
f) Data-Hold
Press the "Hold backlight" button to freeze the current reading on the LCD. The word "HOLD" will appear on the LCD
when the data-hold mode is activated. Simply press the "Hold backlight" button again to return to the normal display
mode. The word "HOLD" is erased from the display.
g) Backlight
Hold the "Hold backlight" button for more than 2 seconds to turn on the backlight. This will also activate the data-hold
function. Press the button momentarily to deactivate the data-hold function. Hold the "Hold Backlight" button for more
than 2 seconds to deactivate the backlight.
h) Auto Power OFF
The device is turned off automatically after 7 minutes if no button is pressed.
i) Battery Replacement
1) Replace the batteries when the low-battery symbol is displayed.
2) Turn off the device and loosen the screw of the battery compartment.
3) Remove the compartment cover and replace the two 1.5V AAA batteries.
4) Replace the cover and fasten the screw.
