Permanent magnetic lifter CSmag
4. Main factors which influence the lifting capacity of the permanent magnetic lifter
4.1 The thickness and surface quality of the component: before operation, you must deter-
mine what proportion of the component is made from steel. The lifting capacity depends on
the thickness of the component and the lifting capacity curve. If the component's surface
roughness Ra is less than 6.3 μm, there will be no lifter surface gap and the lifting capacity
will be 100%. If the surface roughness Ra is 6.3 μm or above, the lifter surface gap must be
estimated. The air gap lifting capacity curve shown on the performance chart can be used to
determine the lifter's possible lifting capacity as a percentage. The curves can also be found
on either sides of the lifter.
