JUNCTION BOX MOUNTING
NOTE: Slots in mounting plate allow for mounting over 3" or 4"
octagonal junction boxes. Junction box must be at least 1-1/2"
deep for proper installation of fixture.
1.
Loosen the two mounting plate set screws using the supplied Allen
wrench to allow for removal of the mounting plate. Do NOT fully
remove the set screws. See Figure 1.
2.
Route the supply leads from the junction box through the large
center hole in the mounting plate.
3.
Align the slots in the mounting plate with the holes in the junction
box. Attach the mounting plate to the junction box using the
supplied screws. Make sure edge of plate marked "TOP" is
positioned towards the top of the junction box. A high grade
caulking material, such as silicone rubber, should be used
between the gasket on the mounting plate and the mounting
surface to ensure a watertight seal.
4.
Push the (3) supply leads into the inside of the fixture through
the holes in the grommet on the back of the mounting base. See
Figure 2.
NOTE: If the wires from the junction box are not long enough to
push through the holes in the grommet, open the fixture by loosing
the (2) screws on the side and push the grommet out of the
mounting base. Pass the supply leads through the center hole in
the mounting base. Push the supply leads into the grommet holes
from inside the fixture and then plug the grommet back into the
center hole of the mounting base. See Figure 3 on next page.
5.
Hang the mounting base from the mounting plate by positioning
the two angled mounting features on the back of the base over the
upper edge of the plate.
6.
If the fixture was not opened in Step 4, loosen the (2) mounting
base screws on the side to allow the fixture door to swing open.
7.
Complete the electrical connections per the Fixture Wiring
section.
8.
Close the fixture door and re-tighten the (2) mounting base
screws.
