Start on the back of the
crack and follow the welding
procedure described in
Now perform steps –
the front of the crack.
Drill a hole to the left and
right of the crack to prevent
further propagation (approx.
5 mm).
Using a milling tool, mill
down to a depth of approx.
1 – 2 mm across a width of
approx. 15 mm along either
side of crack.

Cut stainless steel wire
mesh to size of milled area,
leaving round corners, and fit
into place.
Before using the vehicle
welding nozzle, first attach
temperature guard and reduc-
tion nozzle to gun.
