The EER57200 is a surface mount temperature sensor for use with Wiser
Programmable Communicating Thermostats, models EER56000 and
EER56100. The sensor can be:
Connected to a Wiser thermostat to monitor the temperature of a remote
•
location
Combined with an onboard temperature sensor to average the
•
temperature of two locations
Used to monitor the outdoor temperature
•
The remote temperature sensor is required for Wiser thermostats used in dual
fuel heat pump installations.
This section contains important safety precautions that must be followed before
attempting to install, maintain, or troubleshoot electrical equipment. Carefully
read and follow the safety precautions below.
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
• Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe
electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E.
• This equipment must be installed and serviced by qualified electrical
personnel.
• Turn off all electrical power supplying this equipment before working on
or inside the equipment.
• Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm that
power is off.
• Replace all devices, doors, and covers before turning on power to this
equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious
injury.
1. Install the thermostat base and connect it to the HVAC equipment.
Consult the HVAC manufacturer's instructions and the thermostat
Installer's Guide.
2. Connect the thermostat to the base and confirm that the thermostat
operates correctly.
3. Disconnect the thermostat from the base.
4. Run a twisted pair, shielded cable from the remote thermostat to the
mounting location of the temperature sensor. Follow these guidelines or
product performance may be degraded:
— Wire runs must not exceed 250 feet.
— For distances up to 100 feet, typical twisted pair, PVC-insulated
shielded cable must be used.
— For distances from 100–150 feet, twisted pair shielded cable with
polypropylene insulated conductors must be used.
— For distances from 150–250 feet, twisted pair shielded cable with
foam-polyethylene insulated conductors must be used.
