This temperature transmitter will provide 4-20mA signal amplification from a two/three
wire PT100 sensing element to IEC/DIN/EN 60 751-2. Transmitters are supplied in a
custom DIN standard housing to fit into the range of RS PT100 sensors available
separately.

RS stock no.
The temp range refers to the 4-20mA output. See instruction leaflet V9733 for sensor
ambient operating ranges.
Physical Installation
To fit transmitter into a PT100 space air sensor housing:
1. Loosen the housing screw and remove the lid by gently prising the two sections
apart at the locking screw end.
2. Remove the sensor wires from the terminal block in the sensor lid. Detach
terminal block and discard.
3. Fix the transmitter to the plastic fixing bracket using the barbed plastic stud.
Pushed first through the bracket then the transmitter.
4. Place the transmitter/fixing bracket assembly in the lid (figure 2b).
5. Position the bracket so that the hole passes over the long screw post and the
lefthand end of the bracket sits under the sensor element (figure 2b).
6. Place the press nut over the long screw post and using slightly open flat nosed
pliers, push it onto the post as far as it will travel.
7. Connect the sensor wires and the two wire 4-20mA loop to the transmitter as
shown (figure 1a).
To fit transmitter into a PT100 plant temperature sensor housing:
1. Slide out the two pole terminal block from its retainer. Two small plastic pillars
retain the red and white sensor wires against the right hand screw post. Both
wires should be gently pulled away.
2. The terminal block is no longer required so remove it with pliers / wire cutters. Cut
the wires as close to the terminal block as possible and strip by 10mm.
3. Using pliers, snap off the two small plastic pillars that retained the cable against
the right hand screw post. Place the two shoulder spacers over both screw posts.
4. Feed the sensor wires through the transmitters central hole so that they protrude
on the side with the screw terminals.
5. Fix the transmitter to the two screw posts using the self tapping screws provided.
6. Connect the sensor wires and the two wire 4-20mA loop to the transmitter
asshown (figure 1a or 1b).
