Changing batteries
· Slide the battery compartment lid open.
· Insert two fresh AAA batteries.
· Slide the lid into the closed position again.
· The switch for turning the device on and off is on the back.
First-time use
Plug the probe connector into the transmitter socket. Insert the tip of the probe into the
middle of the roast, taking care not to let it come out the other side. Do not expose any part
of the probe to an open flame.
Selecting type of meat and level of doneness
· Press die "M/M" button to navigate and select the desired type of meat.
· With each press of the button, the display will change in the following sequence:
roast beef, roast pork, chicken, turkey, roast veal, lamb, ham, fish
· Press the "S/T" button to choose the level of doneness (well done, medium, medium rare, rare).
The target temperature will appear on the LCD display and the cooking time will start.
· The doneness alert sounds as soon as the meat reaches the target temperature.
Manually set target temperature
· Insert the probe into the meat.
· Press and hold the "S/S" button for 2 seconds. The temperature display will flash.
· Press "M/M" to count up and "S/T" to count down to select the desired temperature.
· Press "S/S" again to confirm the setting.
· The desired target temperature appears on the LCD display. The cooking time begins.
· The doneness alert sounds as soon as the meat reaches the target temperature.
After cooking
· With the aid of a pot holder or oven mitt, pull the probe out.
· Wash the probe with water and a mild detergent. Clean the device with a damp cloth.
Temperature display in °C/°F
The temperature is displayed either in °C or °F. You can switch between both temperature units
by pressing the "S/T" button for 2 seconds.
Timer
· The device settings can be adjusted on the back of the casing.
· Push the switch on the back of the casing
to TIMER.
· Use "M/M" to set the minutes.
· Use "S/T" to set the seconds.
· Start the timer by pressing the "S/S" button.
· You can reset the timer to 00:00 by pressing the "M/M" and "S/T" together.
Backlighting
Press any button to illuminate the display for 10 seconds.
