Insert the AA-size alkaline battery into the backpack battery
compartment. Match the + and - ends on the battery to the symbols
shown beside the battery compartment.

Replace the battery
compartment cover. Lightly
squeeze the cover and
position the two small tabs
first, then snap the large tab
into place.

Reattach the backpack to the
Rio. Slide the backpack
from the bottom of the
player towards the top.

Plug the earphones into the
port on top of the Rio, slide
the power switch to On, and
>/||
press (Play/Pause) to
listen to the introduction
message.
