Introduction
Klein manufactures a full line of Occupational Protective
Equipment (OPE). Each is a part of an OPE system for fall-
arrest, positioning, suspension, retrieval, or combination
application.
To assemble an OPE system, follow the A-B-C Rule. All
personal OPE systems are made up of three major
components: (A) anchorage, (B) body wear (such as a
harness), and (C) connecting device. Klein's Wire Rope
Anchorage Connector is used to provide a rugged and
versatile attachment point between the connecting device
(the "C" component) and the fall-arrest anchorage ("A"
component). The Wire Rope attaches around a horizontal
I-beam or similar structural member (the "A" component).
When using any OPE system, you must be sure the entire
system meets OSHA regulations. Be sure the primary
anchorage is identified and evaluated by a competent
person, as defined by OSHA, at the job site. A competent
person must also determine that the type of OPE connecting
device and harness are appropriate for the job.
Be sure to read, understand, and follow all instructions and
warnings attached to and/or packed with all other tools,
devices, and equipment you are using.
A typical use of a Wire Rope Anchorage Connector is shown
in Figure 1. This unique connecting device provides a
practical and durable anchorage attachment on many types
of steel structures and transmission towers.
