Sharpening of axes, knives and scissors
Attention! Sharpening of axes, knives and scissors should be carried out in gloves for protection against cuts.
Select the slot intended for sharpening the given type of blade. Turn on the sharpener and wait until it reaches the rated rotation.
Insert blade in the respective slot and then drag it in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of grinding wheel, marked on
the sharpener housing (II). During dragging the blade should be pressed to the grinding wheel with a small force. Repeat it several
times. Then turn off the sharpener by its switch and disconnect the plug from the mains socket.
Attention! During its sharpening the blade always should be dragged in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the grind-
ing wheel. Do not pull the blade in the direction of rotation grinding wheel.
Sharpening of the drill
Before you start drill sharpening you should attach it to the handle in the right way. To do this, press the jaw latch which will cause
their opening (III). By turning the handle knob set slightly larger diameter than the diameter of sharpened drill as ensure free drill
movement in the holder. Insert the handle into the drill positioning socket (IV). It should be noted that the drill handle has protru-
sions, which should be guided into the socket incisions (V). Lift up the latch jaw which can freeze a bit, so turn the drill that was
captured at the narrowest point (VI).
Using the control knob you should determine the amount of material that is to be collected during sharpening. Rotation of the knob
in the direction of arrow increases the amount of collected material (VII). For ordinary drill sharpening the lowest level of collected
material should be adjusted. In the case of major damages to the drill, set a higher level of collected material.
Push the drill bit to the front of the positioning pin (IX), and then, by tightening holder knob in the direction of clockwise, immobilize
the drill in its holder. Press the jaws latch and open them, and then pull the holder with the attached drill out of the positioning
slot.
Connect sharpener to the mains, turn on the sharpener and wait until it reaches the rated rotation. Swing the cover of drill sharp-
ening slot by pushing it in the direction of the arrow. Insert the holder with the drill attached to slot, making sure that the holder
protrusions match the slot incisions (X). After you hear the noise of grinding, please move it back and forth for 5 - 10 seconds while
pressing the drill with a small force to the grinding wheel. Then pull out the holder from socket, turn it by 180 degrees and repeat
the operation for the second edge of the drill bit. Always sharpen both edges of the drill.
Attention! Each surface must be sharpened for the same amount of time and should be pushed with the same force. This will
prevent uneven sharpening of the drill bit.
For sharpening drills having a diameter of 10 mm and larger you should additionally perform the process of grinding the surface of
drill application. For this purpose, after sharpening as it is described above, you should insert the holder with drill into the socket of
applied surface grinding and gently press the drill for a few seconds (XI). Then pull out the holder from socket, turn it 180 degrees
and repeat the operation for the second applied surface of the drill.
Attention! Each surface must be sharpened for the same amount of time and should be pushed with the same force. This will
prevent uneven sharpening of the drill bit.
After drill sharpening it is necessary to evaluate the results of work. If the drill tip after sharpening takes on blue color or other,
different in relation to the natural color of steel, it indicates overheating of the surface and you should reduce the pressure which
is applied to drill towards the grinding wheel.
If, after sharpening, the edges of the drill bit are not equal in length, adjust time and pressure for sharpening each side of the
drill.
Emptying the dust bin (XII)
Sharpener is equipped with two dust bins which collect dust generated during the operation. Each time after the use of sharpener,
the bins should be emptied. To do this, pull them out of the sharpener housing, clean up, and then fix back in the sharpener
housing.
MAINTENANCE AND OVERHAUL
ATTENTION! Before any adjustment, technical service or maintenance operations unplug the tool. Once the operations have been
finished, the technical conditions of the tool must be assessed by means of external evaluation and inspection of the following
elements: body and handle, conductor with a plug and deflection, functioning of the electric switch, patency of ventilation slots,
sparking of brushes, noise level of functioning of bearings and gears, start-up and smoothness of operation. During the guarantee
period, the user cannot dismantle the electric tools or change any sub-assemblies or elements, since it will cancel any guarantee
rights. All irregularities detected at overhaul or during functioning of the tools are a signal to have the tool repaired at a service
shop. Once the functioning has been concluded, the casing, ventilation slots, switches, additional handle and protections must be
cleansed with a stream of air (at a pressure not exceeding 0.3 MPa), with a brush or a cloth without any chemical substances or
cleaning liquids. Tools and handles must be cleansed with a clean cloth.
