Pre-Operation

LUbriCATiON
Air tools require lubrication through-
out the life of the tool. Proper
lubrication is the owner's responsibility.
Use Campbell Hausfeld airtool oil (Part
No. ST127000AV) to lubricate, clean and
inhibit rust in one step. Failure to
lubricate and maintain the air tool
properly will dramatically shorten the
life of the tool and will void the
warranty.
AIR MOTOR LUBRICATION
This air tool
requires lubrication
before initial use and before and after
each additional use.
1. Disconnect tool from air supply.
2. Turn drill upside down.
3. While pulling the trigger, pour a
teaspoon of Campbell Hausfeld oil
in the air inlet.
Cover exhaust port
with a towel before
applying air pressure. Oil will discharge
through the exhaust port during the
first few seconds of operation after an
airtool has been lubricated. Failure to
cover exhaust port can result in serious
injury.
4. Release trigger and connect air tool
to air supply. Cover exhaust port
with a towel then run air tool for 20
to 30 seconds. Oil will discharge
from the exhaust port when air
pressure is applied. Continue to run
the drill until no oil is discharged.
Wipe all residual oil off of tool
before use.

Disconnect the air
line before remov-
ing or installing a drill bit. Tightening
or loosening the drill bit with air supply
attached may cause injury.

TO INSTALL A DRILL BIT:
Hold the ring and turn the sleeve
clockwise until drill bit is secured tightly
(See Figure 2).

TO REMOVE A DRILL BIT:
Hold the ring and turn the sleeve
counterclockwise (See Figure 3).

ChUCk key DriLL OPerATiON
Disconnect the air
line before remov-
ing or installing a drill bit. Tightening
or loosening the drill bit with air supply
attached may cause injury.

TO INSTALL A DRILL BIT:
Insert chuck key into one of the four
chuck key holes. Turn chuck key
backwards to unlock jaws of drill (See
Figure 5). Turn chuck counterclockwise
to open jaws and insert bit. Turn key
forward to lock bit into place (See
Figure 6).

TO REMOVE A DRILL BIT:
Insert chuck key into chuck key hole.
Turn chuck key backwards to unlock
jaws of drill. Spin drill chuck
counterclockwise to open jaws then
remove bit (See Figure 7).

DriLLiNG
1. Locate and mark the desired drill
point with a center punch or an awl
to provide a seat for the drill bit tip.
2. Secure workpiece in a vise or clamp.

3. Place drill bit tip on the exact drill
point and start drill. Never apply a
spinning drill bit to workpiece.
Apply lubricant to drill bit when
drilling metal to reduce friction.

4. Apply steady pressure while
guiding the drill. Withdraw drill
several times to clear cuttings when
drilling deep holes.

5. Reduce drill pressure before totally
cutting through workpiece to keep
chuck from causing damage. Pull
drill out of hole before releasing
trigger.
