CAUTION: Take care not to damage the paint when in
stalling the hood scoop to the hood.
9. Apply MOPAR® Blue Lock & Seal Adhesive or equiv
alent to the threads of the five Jclips preinstalled to
the scoop (2).
NOTE: Install the scoop to the hood as shown. If the
hood is not installed in the order depicted in steps
1011, the scoop will not align to hood.
10. Install the scoop (2) by first tilting the rear portion of
the hood scoop (2) up, insert the hooks located on the
front underside of the scoop (2) into the front slots (1)
of the hood and push the scoop (2) forward until the
hooks are properly seated into the hood slots (1).
11. Once the front portion of the hood scoop (2) is prop
erly installed, press down on the rear portion of the
scoop (2) to insert the hood scoop's (2) preinstalled
Jclips into the slots located on the hood (1). The pre
installed Jclip studs should align with the five slots lo
cated at the rear of the hood scoop channel. If one or
more of the Jclips studs do not align to the slots, use
a nonscratching pusher stick (i.e. paint stick with a 'v'
on the end) to push the stud(s) into the slot(s).
CAUTION: Be sure to not to damage the paint finish
of the hood by placing the hood on nonabrasive sur
face.
12. With the help of an assistant, turn the hood upright or
upside down while holding the hood scoop in place to
locate the five access holes in the inner hood.
13. Install the hood scoop nut (1) included in the kit to
the Jclip stud (1) through the inner hood access hole.
Tighten the nuts to 15 +/ 1 in.lbs.
14. Tighten the two side nuts first and then tighten the mid
dle rear nut. Finally tighten the two outer corner rear
nuts. Tighten the nuts again in the same sequence
with the same torque specification after all are tight
ened the first time.
15. Remove the adhesive backing from the kit supplied
tape patch.
16. Cover the middle rear nut's inner hood access hole
with the tape patch.
