The camera housing protects the
camera and battery from water
damage. For more information, see
Changing Housing Backdoors. Do
not turn on your camera if it is wet. If
your camera is already on, turn it off
and remove the battery immediately.
Allow the camera to dry thoroughly
before using it again. Do not dry the
camera or battery with an external
heat source such as a microwave
oven or hair dryer. Damage to the
camera or battery caused by contact
with liquid is not covered under the
warranty.
Battery Storage and handling
How to store the battery - If the bat-
tery pack is not being used for a long
period of time, fully charge the bat-
tery before storage and repeat this
procedure once per year to maintain
optimum battery lifetime. Store the
battery in the protective case sup-
plied with the battery. Store battery
in a cool, dry place. The lifetime of a
rechargeable battery is limited. The
capacity will drop progressively with
use and age of battery pack. Replace
the battery pack when available bat-
tery time is shortened noticeably. The

battery lifetime can vary substantially
depending on storage, operating
conditions, the charger used and
exposure to unsuitable environ-
mental conditions. Exposure to high
temperatures can also shorten the
battery lifetime

• Do not expose battery to excessive
temperatures (below 0ºC or above
40ºC) or strong direct sunlight.
• Do not leave battery in the trunk or
on the dashboard of a vehicle, over
heating can result in leaking, fire
or explosion.
• Battery temperature, while on
charge or in use should never in-
crease above 60ºC/140ºF. If higher
temperature occurs, discontinue
using and stop charging immedi-
ately
• Do not store battery in wet or
humid locations
• Do not store battery connected to
a charger
• Do not short circuit + and -
contacts. Do not store battery with
metal objects. Keep battery in
supplied protective case when in
storage or transportation
• Do not throw battery in fire and
dispose of in accordance with
appropriate regulation
• Do not connect battery in reverse
polarity
• Do not subject battery to strong
impact or continuous mechanical
shocks
• Do not solder onto any of the
battery contacts
• Do not dismantle or modify the
battery. Contents of an open bat-
tery (electrolyte) can cause, skin
or eye irritation and/or respiratory
irritation. In the case of any such
irritation seek immediate medical
attention
• Do not swallow battery. If swal-
lowed seek immediate medical
attention.
• Keep batteries out of reach of
children
• Dispose of battery in accordance
with the appropriate regulations.
• Due to possible user resealing
error or disassembly, the GoPro
camera, internal battery and High
Power BackPac used in combi-
nation with water-proof housings
and backdoor are not guaranteed
against water leakage or other wa-
ter damage including any damage
resulting from it
