On-Board-Diagnostics II Memory Saver
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
To use the SEC-12V-OBD:
1. Connect the Memory Saver 12V plug to your 12V DC power supply. Make sure the
plug is firmly in place. NOTE: Do not plug the 12V power plug into the power outlet in
the same vehicle from which you are removing the battery.
2. Connect the Memory Saver OBD diagnostic connector to the vehicle's OBD
connector. Make sure the connector is fully engaged. The red LED will light on the
12V plug when the Memory Saver is properly connected.
3. Disconnect the vehicle's battery cables.
WARNING
When working with the vehicle's battery, review all the battery manufacturer's

and vehicle manufacturer's safety instructions, warnings and directives regarding battery
disconnection, removal and replacement.
WARNING
The vehicle's electrical system is receiving power from the Memory Saver
:
through the OBD connection. Therefore, the vehicle's battery connectors are electrically
live and should be covered with an insulator to prevent the connectors from touching metal
or each other and causing a short circuit.
After each use, disconnect the Memory Saver and use a dry cloth to wipe all dirt or oil from
the connectors and the cable.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The SEC-12V-OBD Memory Saver 12V DC plug contains an 8 amp fuse.
Should a problem arise with the Memory Saver, check the fuse or contact customer service
for assistance.
