Pressure equipment for cold-curing resins used in materials testing
When fast-curing resins are allowed to set in a pressure unit, one obtains bubble- and pore free samples.
The physical and chemical properties of the resin however remain completely unchanged.
The Technomat is a pressure unit that was designed to suit
the special technology of fast-curing resins. The pressure
level of 2.0 bar was chosen to make allowance for the
polymerization behaviour of the cold polymer Technovit, which
is used for embedding metallographic specimens and for
taking surface impressions in materials testing.
In processing Technovit, one can achieve
clear, bubble-free, transparent specimens in the
-
case of Technovit 4004,
pore-free embedded specimens in the case of
-
Technovit 4000, 4002 and 4071,
bubble-free impressions in the case of
-
Technovit 3040
pore-free castings in the case of Technovit 2060
-
if curing is carried out in the Technomat.
The functional design of the unit makes it simple and problem-free to operate. When the valve lever is moved
upwards, the pressure is built up to a level of 2.0 bar. The pressure gauge within the unit housing indicates the
operating pressure. The pressure is released by moving the valve lever downwards. The Technomat is a space-
saving, compact unit. The housing is made from macrolon resin and the pressure pot itself is of INOX steel.
Start of operation
Connect to pressure source. Maximum primary pressure 10 bars.
Pressure pot
Opening and closing of the pressure pot:
For the opening of the lid position lever in upright position. Turn lid for 90° , tilt and remove from pressure pot. To
open after completion of polymerization position lever in upright position. The lid can only be removed after unit is
completely depressurized. Lid will then sink into pressure pot. Placing and closing of lid will take place in reverse
manner. It must be observed that the supporting strut of the lid fits into the moulds on the pressure pot rim.
Polymerization
see user instruction of the used Technovit resin!
Clean and maintenance
Clean with a moist cloth and prevent water entering unit housing. Do not use acid detergents. A pressure test is
recommended every second year.
Liability waiver
Other usage deviating from user instruction as well as unauthorized changes are excluded from the
manufacturer´s product liability. Repair may only be made by the manufacturer, only original parts may be used.
