Using the Cassette function

Playing tapes
1. Select cassette mode by pressing the "ON/OFF/FUNCTION" button until "tAPE" is
displayed.
2. Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment.
3. Insert a recorded audio cassette into the cassette compartment making sure that the
open side with the tape is facing up and the side you want to listen to facing forward (full
reel on the right). Then close the cassette compartment.
4. Press the PLAY button to play the tape.
5. Press the STOP/EJECT button to stop playback.
6. Use the arrow buttons to fast forward or rewind the tape. As a reminder, F.FWD = fast
forward, RWD = rewind.
7. Always press the STOP/EJECT button before changing direction or to stop the tape. This
prevents damage to the unit and the tape.
8. If you press the STOP/REJECT button again, the cassette compartment door will open.
9. To briefly pause playback, press the PAUSE button. Press again to continue playback.
Recording tapes
1. Insert an audio cassette tape with the side to be recorded facing forward (full reel on the
right).
2. Check to make sure that the cassette is not copy-protected (the copy protection tab on
the top right, narrow side of the cassette must not have been removed).
3. Select the source that you want to record from using the function button, and then start
playback from that source, if necessary. The sound source you are listening to is the
one from which the recording is made. The sound level of the recording is controlled
automatically. Adjusting the volume does not affect the recording.
4. Please press the "RECORD" button (the PLAY button will automatically press at the
same time).
5. The recording starts. All previous recordings are automatically overwritten.
6. The recording can be briefly interrupted with the PAUSE button or stopped with the
STOP/EJECT button.

Playing CDs/MP3s

1. Select CD mode by pressing the "ON/OFF/FUNCTION" button until "CD" is displayed.
2. Open the CD compartment by lifting the cover using the notch.
3. Place an audio CD, printed side up, on the centre cone so that the CD clicks into place,
and then close the CD compartment cover.
4. After a few seconds, the total number of songs/tracks will appear on the display.
5. The CD starts playing from the first track.
6. To remove the CD, press the "PROGRAM/FOLDER/STOP" button, open the CD
compartment and carefully remove the CD.
7. Always keep the CD compartment closed.
