Search Ring Pivot Notes
•
Never swing the search ring like a pendulum. Lifting the search ring at the
end of a pan can cause false readings.
RIGHT
•
Pan slowly, you may miss targets if you move quickly.
•
It is best to swivel the search head in arc lines about 8 cm apart and keep
the search ring parallel to the ground.
•
If the detector has found something, a sound is heard, an arrow appears on
the display and the depth is shown under the target symbol.
•
If the detector does not find the sample, make sure that the mode is
selected to match the metal you are looking for. You should also make sure
that you move the search ring as described.
•
The detector reacts with a signal if it has found a valuable metal object. If
the signal does not repeat when you swing the search ring over the object,
it is probably metal junk.
•
False readings can be caused by dirty surfaces, electrical interference or
large metal parts in your vicinity.
•
False displays are usually interrupted and cannot be repeated.
