Brake light switch 6DD 008 622-731 installation instructions
Always observe the installation notes!
Assembly must be carried out by trained, qualified personnel only.
Before installation, ensure that the product is suitable for the intended application and demonstrates
EN the required dimensions, connections and properties.
Please follow the respective removal and installation notes of the vehicle manufacturer in regard to
this!

The brake light switch is equipped with an integrated mechanical
adjusting device and must therefore not be operated before
installation!
An electrical test is only possible after installation in the pedal
set.
Removal:
• Switch off the ignition
• Pull off the electrical plug connection by pressing down the
locking device on the connector housing
• Turn the brake light switch counterclockwise by 45° to the left
and pull it out of the mounting hole.
Installation:
The brake pedal must not be operated during installation!
• Lightly wet the plunger head (tip) of the switch with a suitable
grease before installation.
• Carefully insert the new brake light switch into the mounting
hole until the plunger head rests against the brake pedal.
• Then press the brake light switch in with light pressure and
turn it 45 degrees to the right. Correct positioning is acknowl-
edged by a click sound!
• Then reconnect the electrical connection
• Depending on the vehicle model, it may be necessary to read
out the fault memory of the higher-level control unit and
delete displayed faults before the functional test of the brake
light switch!
• Switch on the ignition and check the function of the brake
light on the rear lights by depressing the brake pedal several
times.
