Connect to Device and Verify Operation
Checker 3G sensors have two operating modes. In Setup Mode, you use SensorView
Teach Pendant to configure a Job to perform a specific inspection, presence, or
measurement task. When the Job is complete, you switch Checker to Run Mode;
Checker automatically detects and checks parts as they arrive on your line, and it sends
the output signals that you configure.
Depending on what type of device (Checker 200, Checker 3G, or Dataman 100) that you
are connecting to and on the mode of the device, SensorView Teach Pendant will display
one of four initial screens:
Checker 3G in Setup Mode
Connecting to a Checker 3G in Setup Mode
displays the Setup Mode home screen. This
screen lets you set up a Checker job.
Checker 3G or 200 in Run Mode
Connecting to a Checker 3G or Checker 200
in Run Mode displays the Run Mode screen.
The Run mode screen shows the images that
Checker is checking as well as statistics.

Checker 200 in Setup Mode
Connecting to a Checker 200 in Setup Mode
displays an error message. SensorView
Teach Pendant can only configure Checker
3G devices.
To connect to a Checker 200, you must
place it in Run mode using the Checker PC
software.
DataMan 100
DataMan 100 does not have a Setup
mode. When you connect to a DataMan
100, SensorView Teach Pendant shows
you acquired images and decoded data
from the DataMan 100.
Startup Tips:
► If you connect to a USB hub to which multiple devices are connected, Checker
automatically connects to the first device that it detects on the hub. You can connect to a
different device using the Main Menu ►Connect To command.
► Make sure that you connect SensorView Teach Pendant to earth (chassis) ground.
Avoid conditions in which a voltage potential difference exists between the SensorView
Teach Pendant earth ground and your devices' earth grounds.
