Filling, lighting and refi lling the burner
•
Fill the container with bio-ethanol, not more than 3/4 of the respective
burner capacity.
•
Use a funnel to fi ll it.
•
Spilled ethanol must be removed with an absorbent cloth and the affected
area cleaned with water to prevent ignition outside the burner container.
•
Long lighters or long matches are ideal for lighting bio-ethanol. Otherwise
there is a risk of defl agration. Never throw used matches into the burner.
•
If the fl ame does not ignite, repeat the lighting process until the fl ame
burns evenly.
•
Wait at least 30 minutes after the fl ame has gone out before using the
lantern again. Otherwise there is a risk of explosion.
•
The fl ame glows slowly and small at fi rst. It can take up to 15 minutes to
reach the optimum temperature and fl ame height.
CAUTION
Risk of fi re! When lighting the lantern, always make sure that it
is placed on a heat-resistant and fi reproof surface or ceramic
tile, not directly on a carpet!
Note: The fuel should be stored at room temperature to facilitate lighting.
CAUTION
Risk of fi re! The fuel must be kept at a safe distance (at least
1 m) from the lantern. Do not place ethanol fuel in front of the
lantern. Note that the ethanol sometimes burns bluish and is
diffi cult to see. Therefore, always make sure that the burner is
switched off and cold before adding ethanol.
