Hold the coin in this position. Release the TARGET button after 2 seconds
and then press it again, the sensitivity changes according to the coin applied.
Although the position of the coin has not changed, it no longer beeps. Move
the coin towards the centre of the search coil again, you will hear a long tone.
Repeat the steps to reduce the coin height bit by bit until it is close to the
centre of the search coil.
THE UNIT IN OUTDOOR USE
The unit is primarily intended for outdoor use. Indoors, there are too many
metal objects and disturbances, so that metal objects can only be insufficiently
distinguished.
Outdoor use is a little more complicated, as the following factors can
influence the search result: substrate, metal composition, size and degree of
oxidation. This chapter deals with the basic steps. Try different settings to gain
experience and achieve good results.
1. Switch the device on.
2. Initially, the MODE switch should be set to ALL METAL. In this mode, all
metals are detected. When you find an object, use the DISC or TONE mode
to distinguish different types of metal by turning the DISC/TONE knob.
3. Adjust DISC/TONE control
The DISC/TONE control is now useful in DISC/TONE mode. After you
have found an object, you should use one of the two modes to determine
the type of metal. If you turn the control from 0-10, the following types
of metal are excluded, in order: iron, nickel, can lids, zinc, copper and
aluminium. NOTE: Silver is not excluded. The distinguishing position of
silver normally corresponds to that of aluminium, that of gold corresponds
to that for can closures.
