8. The exterior of the appliance will get very hot during use. Always take care when handling. Never lift the appliance by the
lid. Always use the handle.
9. Always ensure the appliance is switched off before removing from the power base and unplugged from the socket before
cleaning or when not in use.
10. Beware of steam being emitted from the spout or lid, especially during refilling.
11. This appliance is intended for normal household use only. It must not be used for anything other than its intended
purpose.
12. Do not use this appliance outdoors.
13. Do not place the appliance on or near any potentially hot surfaces e.g. oven hobs.
14. Do not allow the power cord to overhang from work surfaces, or to touch hot surfaces or to become knotted.
15. Do not operate this appliance if the power cord or plug are damaged, or if the appliance malfunctions or is damaged in
anyway. Check the power cord regularly for signs of damage/wear.
16. Do not open the lid whilst the kettle is boiling.
17. Do not fill the kettle above the MAX mark. Boiling water may splash out if overfilled.
18. To avoid possible steam damage, turn spout away from walls and do not use under cabinets.
19. The appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar
applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels,
motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments.

Preparation for use 
1. Remove all packing from the kettle and its power base. Before using the kettle for the first time, r if it has been out of use
for a long time fill to the max mark and boil, then discard the boiled water and rinse the kettle out with cold water.
2. Before connecting the appliance to the mains supply check that the voltage indicated on the rating plate corresponds
with the mains voltage in your home.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE 
1. Always remove the kettle from the power base before filling.
2. Lift the lid.
3. Fill the kettle between the MIN and MAX marks on the water level indicator with cold water.
4. Replace the lid and place the kettle back on the power base. Make sure the lid is securely fitted on the kettle before
boiling.
5. Position the kettle on the power base.
6. Plug the power base into the power outlet and switch on at the mains.
7. To start boiling press the ON/OFF switch to the down position.
8. The power indicator will illuminate and the kettle will start to boil. NEVER REMOVE THE LID DURING BOILING.
9. When the water has boiled the kettle will switch off automatically and the power indicator will extinguish.
10. You can stop the boiling process at any time by pressing the switch to the OFF position.
11. After the kettle has switched off automatically, there may be a short delay before it can be re-boiled. This is usually no
more than 20 seconds.
12. The safety cut-out will operate if you accidently switch on the kettle when it is empty or allow it to boil dry Wait 15
