• Make sure you have a class B fire extinguisher close by.
• Dispose of fuel in a recommended and secure container.
Removal Instructions
STEP 1: Before you begin work, DEPRESSURIZE fuel system and DISCONNECT the battery and/or fuel
delivery related fuses, as recommended by the manufacturer. (Reduces or eliminates risk of fire and
personal injury.)
STEP 2: Remove fuel filler cap and store fuel in a recommended, secure container. NOTE: Some filler necks
or fuel tanks are equipped with a rollover safety valve that may not be emptied by the filler neck unless
it is removed.
STEP 3: DISCONNECT all fuel and vapor lines.
STEP 4: DISCONNECT and INSPECT all electrical connectors including grounds (and fuel filler neck,
if needed).
STEP 5: Ensure the fuel tank is fully supported before loosening and removing fuel tank holding straps.
(Replace straps, if damaged or severely rusted.)
STEP 6: Carefully lower fuel tank.
STEP 7: Remove all rubbers and insulators that are attached to the fuel tank. NOTE: The cause of tank
contamination may be a damaged or corroded filler neck.
