Description
The Greenlee HRCG-300 Refrigerant/Combustible Gas Detector is a hand-held testing device intended to
detect all refrigerants — such as CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons), HCFCs (hydrochlorofluorocarbons), HFCs
(hydrofluorocarbons), chlorine gas, and fluorine gas — that may leak from air conditioning units and
automobile engine compartments. Using a separate, interchangeable sensor, the unit also detects
combustible gas leaks in residential appliances and furnaces, industrial heating units, and gas
distribution equipment.
Equipped with two sets of LEDs and audio indicator for user convenience, the unit displays the relative
level of refrigerants, even with high levels of background vapors. Samples are taken by drawing air into
the unit by an internal motorized pump.
In addition, the HRCG-300 features:
• Microprocessor-controlled circuitry that guarantees accuracy and reliability
• Audible indicator mute
• Flashing probe tip whose flash rate varies in accordance with changes in the detected refrigerant/
combustible gas level
• Automatic zero that eliminates the need for manual sensitivity adjustments
• Flexible probe for hard-to-reach areas
• Filter in probe tip that prevents water from reaching sensor
®
• Protective rubber boot that accommodates a Maglite
flashlight (included)
