6. Idioms
Expressions or phrases usually composed of a
sequence of words. They can be identified:
a. Automatically within a sentence
(scanned/typed).
b. By scrolling through the translation of the first
word of the sequence.
The idiom 'over the moon' from the headword 'over'
The Alternative Entries list for the idiom 'over the
moon' includes the complete idiom and the first word
of the idiom (i.e. 'over').
7. Split Verbs
Scanning a single word which is part of a split verb:
a. Scanning a verb which can also be part of a
split verb: The translation appears on the
Dictionary Screen. Selecting the SPLIT VERB
option from Alternative Entries opens the
Virtual Keyboard, allowing the first part of the
split verb to be inserted.
b. Scanning one part of a split verb (which doesn't
exist on its own in the dictionary): The message
"Insert additional part of split verb" appears
followed by the Virtual Keyboard, allowing the
first part of the split verb to be inserted in order
to view the translation of the entire verb.
