5. Maintenance and Storage
5.1 Maintenance:
Oil, petrol, toluene, petroleum and other solvents are damaging to the kayak's surface.
Rinse the kayak with non-salt water before long-term storage.
It is possible to wash the kayak in warm soapy water.
5.2 Drying:
When drying, or in case of prolonged exposure to the sun, slightly deflate the kayak to avoid excessive stretching of the material and a puncture. A
1- Remove the ailerons: press the plastic pin (I) and slide the aileron outside of its base.
2- Deflate the bottom, the seats and the sponsons by unscrewing the valve body (J). The cap remains attached to the valve stem to not be lost.
3- Remove the bottom of the kayak by removing the 6 Velcro straps 6 (K).
4- Drain the water through the drain plug (L) located at the back of the kayak.
5- For longer durability of the product, dry the kayak.
6- After drying, reposition the bottom in the kayak and attach the 6 Velcro straps. The floor valve is found at the rear of the kayak.
5.3 Folding:
Above all, make sure no sharp objects are located on or inside the kayak.
1- To prepare for folding, position the seats (deflated and folded) inside the kayak, at the level of the bases of the ailerons.
2- Once the kayak deflated, deploy with the bottom facing the floor. Fold the side chambers towards the inside of the kayak (M).
3- Fold the kayak starting on the opposite side of the open valves. The fins' bases must not be folded (N), they must be put flat.
4- The rear tip of the kayak is folded into 2 parts and then folded over the main roll (O).
5- Place the kayak inside its bag and slide the ailerons inside the folds to protect them.
5.4 Storage:
Store the kayak in a dry and protected place between 10°C and 25°C (+50°F and 77°F). In case of long term storage, we recommend occasionally
inflating the kayak for 24 hours to that it does not lose its shape.
