1 - SAFETY WARNINGS

WARNING - for the safety of people, it is important to observe these instructions and keep
them for future use.
Read the instructions carefully before installation. The design and manufacture of the devices which
make up the product and the information contained in this manual comply with the current safety
standards in force. However, incorrect installation and programming can cause damage to property
and injury to persons who carry out the work and those who use the system. It is, therefore, important
to carefully follow all the instructions given in this manual during installation.

2 - INTRODUCTION TO THE PRODUCT

DIGITAL SELECTOR FOR AUTOMATIC DOORS LEVANTE
The SEL5 Digital Selector is a device for reading CARDL cards that can be combined with automatic
doors. Communication with the CTLEV control unit takes place via the Bus interface.

3 - PRELIMINARY CHECKS

WARNING - before installing the product, verify and check the following points:
• Check that the surface on which the device will be fixed is solid and does not vibrate
• Use suitable electrical connections for the current required
• Check that the power supply complies with the values of the technical specifications
• Disconnect the power supply before installing
• Make sure there is a circuit breaker in the power supply system with a distance between the contacts
that allows for total disconnection under the conditions laid down by overvoltage category III
4 - PROGRAMMING
4.1 READER NUMBER SETTING
Since it is possible to install 2 SEL5 readers on the same BUS network, it is necessary to set the
reader number using the DIP1 dip switch.
READER NUMBER
NOTES: Attention: the dip switches must be set with the readers switched off; the learning takes place
when switching on. Two or more readers with the same address cannot coexist.
4.2 WIRING
For proper operation, the BUS network requires a twisted cable with an impedance of 120 ohms. A
single cable cannot be longer than 50m; if the latter is laid together with 230 Vac power cables, its
maximum length will be significantly reduced to overcome the disturbances induced on it. The network
must propagate from point to point and never as a star. In any case, it is essential to respect polarities,
to overcome problems of erroneous reference to mass and Vdc, and reliability in data communication.
