INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing WireLogic's Smart Surge 6, a product designed
to reduce energy consumption (standby power waste) and minimize
energy cost. Its advanced surge protection is optimized for today's
sensitive electronic devices, while its power filtration provides a cleaner
power supply to maximize the performance of those devices.
The Smart Surge 6 offers three distinct, but closely related types of outlets:
MASTER CONTROL OUTLET
The MASTER CONTROL outlet is the brain of the Smart Surge 6. It senses
changes in the electric current of the device that is connected to it and
properly controls the power to the ENERGY SAVER outlets. That way, the
devices connected to the Energy Saver outlets only receive power when
they need it.
ENERGY SAVER OUTLETS
To efficiently reduce standby power waste, the ENERGY SAVER outlets
are turned on only when the device connected to the MASTER CONTROL
outlet is turned on. When the device connected to the MASTER CONTROL
outlet goes into standby or sleep mode, or is turned off, the devices
connected to the ENERGY SAVER outlets automatically shut off.
ALWAYS ON OUTLETS
These outlets provide continuous power to the devices that are connected
to it. These outlets are recommended for devices that require continuous
power, such as hard-drive–based electronics or timed-recording devices.
INSTALLATION
WALL MOUNTING
1. There are mounting holes on the back of the surge protector for wall
or baseboard mounting.
2. Install screws (not included) on wall or baseboard surface (leaving at
least 1/4 inch of the screw exposed).
3. Place and secure the surge protector on the mounted screws, as you
would hang a picture frame on a nail.
HOOKUP INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1
Select your primary device and connect it to the MASTER CONTROL
outlet. The primary device will control the flow of power to the ENERGY
SAVER outlets.
