DS3 PROVIDER BACKHAUL UNIT, 6-PORT
1. After unpacking the Provider Unit, check to make sure you have the
following:
• DS3 Provider Backhaul Unit, 6-Port (LRA1216A-6 or LRA1216A-6-DC)
• (4) rubber feet
• (10) rackmount screws
• (2) rackmount brackets
• Power cord (AC version [LRA1216A-6] only)
• This users' manual
If anything is missing or damaged, call Black Box at 724-746-5500.
2. Select the site. When selecting a site for the DS3 Provider Backhaul Unit,
consider the following:
• The maximum recommended temperature is 86°F (30°C). Consider the
internal temperature of the rack.
• Make sure that you place the unit so that the cables won't become a tripping
hazard or become dislodged from the unit.
• Do not block the power-supply vents or otherwise restrict airflow when
installing the unit in a rack.
• Consider the mechanical loading of the rack so that it remains stable and
unlikely to tip over.
• Consider the overall loading of the branch circuit before installing any
equipment in a rack environment.
• Make sure that a reliable grounding path is maintained in the rack system.
This unit is intended for a grounded connection.
For table-top mounting, attach the rubber feet to the bottom of the unit. For
rack mounting, attach the rackmount brackets to the sides of the unit at the
desired position.
