ISTRUZIONI PER L APPLICAZIONE DELLA CERNIERA PER GINOCCHIO
Prima di indossare l'ortesi, leggere attentamente e per intero le presenti istruzioni.
La corretta applicazione è indispensabile per il buon funzionamento dell'ortesi.
INDICAZIONI: • Distorsioni leggere o moderate del legamento crociato laterale e/o mediale
• Meniscectomia post-artroscopica • Leggere instabilità globali
Il presente dispositivo è stato progettato a complemento delle terapie per la cura delle suddette condizioni.
A Slacciare ed allentare le fascette
Ad avvolgimento
in corrispondenza della coscia e del
polpaccio.
B Tirare il manicotto sulla gamba
servendosi degli appositi anelli in cuoio
situati sulla sommità di ciascuna barra
della cerniera. Se si sta utilizzando la
versione Ad avvolgimento, avvolgerla
semplicemente attorno alla gamba e
fissarla sulla parte anteriore dell'arto.
Posizionare il manicotto in modo che le
cerniere siano parallele tra loro e che la
sommità dell'intaglio circolare sia
allineata con la sommità della rotula.
C Fissare le fascette di supporto sulla coscia
e sul polpaccio.

RIMOZIONE DELL ORTESI
Per rimuovere l'ortesi, slacciare innanzitutto le fascette della coscia e del polpaccio, quindi spingere
il manicotto verso il basso ponendo le mani su entrambe le cerniere laterali.
ISTRUZIONI PER LA REGOLAZIONE DELLE CERNIERE
L'ortesi viene fornita con arresti di estensione a 10°. Per cambiarli, asportare innanzitutto la
vite, come illustrato. Rimuovere quindi gli arresti ed inserire quelli nuovi,
allineandoli con i fori della placca della cerniera. Completata questa
operazione, reinserire la vite. Utilizzando un cacciavite a croce,
verificare che le viti siano ben strette e che rientrino nell'apposita

sede. Gli arresti mediali e laterali devono essere identici (in gradi).
Arresti di estensione: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30° e 40°.
Arresti di flessione: 0°, 45°, 60°, 75° e 90° (alla spedizione del prodotto non è installato
alcun arresto di flessione).
USO E MANUTENZIONE
• Se durante l'attività fosse necessario ristringere l'ortesi, allentare e ristringere tutte le fascette sec-
ondo la sequenza descritta nelle istruzioni per l'applicazione.
• L'ortesi non teme né l'acqua dolce né quella salata. In seguito ad attività che abbiano esposto
all'acqua l'ortesi, farla scolare accuratamente e risciacquarla con acqua dolce e pulita. Lasciarla
asciugare all'aria.
• Rimuovere le barre delle cerniere e le fascette e lavare il manicotto in neoprene in acqua fredda
con sapone neutro. LASCIARE ASCIUGARE ALL'ARIA. NON ESPORRE IL MANICOTTO
IN A GETTI DI ARIA CALDA.
• Il meccanismo della cerniera richiede scarsa manutenzione durante le normali condizioni d'uso.
Tuttavia, è possibile applicare un lubrificante secco, come uno spray contenente Teflon
meccanismo interno. Tale operazione è consigliata a seguito dell'uso in acqua.
• Controllare periodicamente le viti della cerniera e riavvitarle, se necessario.
Consultare sempre il proprio medico o terapista prima di apportare qualsiasi modifica all'ortesi.

paziente. Le ortesi funzionali per il ginocchio non vanno indossate sopra gli indumenti. Consultare il proprio

HINGED KNEE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Before applying the brace, please read these instructions completely and carefully. Correct application is
vital to the proper functioning of the brace.
INDICATIONS: • Mild to moderate MCL and/or LCL sprains • Post arthroscopic meniscectomy • Mild
global instabilities
This product was designed to complement the variety of medical treatments common to the above afflictions.
A Unfasten and loosen the straps at the
Wrap Around
thigh and calf.
B Pull the sleeve onto the leg using the
loops at the top of each hinge bar. If
using wrap-around version, simply wrap
around leg and fasten over the front of
the leg. Position the sleeve so that the
hinges are parallel to each other, and the
top of the circular cut-out aligns with the
top of the kneecap.
C Fasten the support straps at the
thigh and calf.
TO REMOVE
To remove, first unfasten the thigh and calf straps, then push down with both hands on either side
of the hinges.
HINGE ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Your brace comes with 10° extension stops installed. To change the installed stops, first com-
pletely remove the screw as shown. Then remove the stops. Insert the new
stops, align with the holes in the hinge plate, then reinsert the screw.
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, ensure that the screws are seated in

the recess and completely tightened. Both medial and lateral stops
must be identical in degree.
Extension Stops: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, and 40°.
Flexion Stops: 0°, 45°, 60°, 75°, and 90° (no flexion stops are installed upon shipment)
USE AND CARE
• If during activity, re-tightening is necessary, loosen and re-tighten all straps following steps in the
application instructions.
• The brace may be used in fresh or salt water. Following use in water activities, drain thoroughly
and rinse with clean fresh water and then air dry.
• Remove hinge bars and straps and hand wash sleeve in cold water with mild detergent. AIR
DRY ONLY, DO NOT HEAT DRY.
• The hinge mechanism requires little maintenance in normal use. However, you may apply a dry
lubricant such as a Teflon ® spray to the internal mechanism of the hinge. Dry lubrication is rec-
ommended following use in water.
• Periodically inspect hinge screws for tightness and re-tighten as needed.
Always consult with your physician or therapist before making changes to the brace.
