Instructions
Step 1
Some USB devices may require an external power supply when connected to a
USB hub. Check with the manufacturer of your USB peripheral(s).
If external power is not required,* then proceed to Step 2. If external power is
required, then plug in the optional DC power adapter to the Compact USB 4-
Port Hub. The power adapter is sold separately.
* If you don't use a power adapter, then the USB Hub will draw its power from
your computer's USB port. However, if you have a laptop or have several USB
devices connected to your desktop computer, you may want to use the optional
power adapter to help boost signal strength between a computer and its USB
devices. Using a power adapter also helps preserve a laptop's battery life.

Compact USB 4-Port Hub
Step 2
Connect the Compact USB 4-Port Hub to your computer using the attached
USB cable. The computer's operating system may install the appropriate driver
automatically. You may be asked to supply your original Windows CD
installation files, which include all necessary drivers and files. Linksys does
not provide any drivers.
The installation of the Compact USB 4-Port Hub is complete.
Step 3
Plug your USB device(s) into the Compact USB 4-Port Hub.
Please follow the installation instructions that accompanied your USB
device(s).
