3 Applications
The antenna splitter UA-960 is designed for
operating up to four UHF receivers from JTS
which
– operate in a frequency range between 470
and 960 MHz
– are equipped with removable antennas (BNC
connection)
– are supplied with +12 V/1 A max .
UA-960 makes it easier to set up the audio
transmission system: Only two of the antennas
supplied with each receiver (one pair for each
receiver) are required for connection to the
antenna splitter; all other antennas and the
power supply units of the receivers are not
required . The splitter will send the antenna
signals to the receivers and supply the receivers
with power . Matching connection cables are
supplied .
When more than four receivers are op-
erated, the cascade outputs (8) can be used
to connect multiple antenna splitters UA-960
in series . Each antenna splitter will be able to
supply four receivers with power .
.
The antenna splitter can also be used in com-
bination with two antenna signal amplifiers
UB-900I . The antenna splitter will supply the
amplifiers with power .
4 Operation
4.1 Preparation and setting up
1) When the antenna signal amplifiers UB-900I
are used, the 12 V supply voltage for these
amplifiers must be available at the jacks
ANT . A and ANT . B (7) . Prior to operation,
please make sure that the corresponding
switch for the supply voltage in the device is
in the position ON (fig . 2 on page 2) .
WARNING
Before opening the device, always make
sure that the mains plug is disconnected
from the socket!
2) To install the reception antennas on the front
panel of UA-960, insert the two BNC jack-
to-jack adapters supplied with the device
into the mounting holes on the left and on
the right and screw them on (refer to fig . 1
on page 2) .
3) Place the antenna splitter on a flat surface or
install it into a rack for devices with a width

of 482 mm (19") . For installation into a rack,
1 rack unit (= 44 .45 mm) is required .
4.2 Connection and switching on
The connection options can be found in fig . 3
on page 2 .
1) Connect the low voltage jacks DC Output (6)
to the power supply jacks of the receivers .
2) Connect the antenna pair of one of the re-
ceivers to the antenna inputs of the splitter:
– either to the two jacks (1) on the front
panel of the device; in this case, connect
the rear side (4) of these jacks to the jacks
ANT . A and ANT . B (7)
– or directly to the two jacks ANT . A and
ANT . B (7) on the rear panel of the device .
When using the antenna signal amplifiers
UB-900I, insert the amplifiers between the
antennas and the antenna splitter .
3) Connect the two antenna inputs of each re-
ceiver to an antenna output ANT . A 1 . ... 4 .
and to the corresponding antenna output
ANT . B 1 . ... 4 . (9) .
4) The antenna signals can be routed to an-
other UA-960: Connect the outputs ANT . A
CASCADE and ANT . B CASCADE (8) to the
inputs ANT . A and ANT . B (7) of the following
UA-960 . This splitter in turn allows connec-
tion of four receivers .
5) Connect the mains cable provided to the
mains jack (5) and connect the mains plug
of the cable to a mains socket .
6) To switch the antenna splitter on or off, use
the rocker switch (2) . When the device is
switched on, the power LED (3) will light up .
