This safety information applies to the Pump Control Unit (PCU).

Pump sensors are connected to the device for the monitor-
ing of the following variables:

Pressure of the pumped medium at the pump outlet
–
Temperature of the pump or the pumped medium

The following sensors can be connected to the device for
the monitoring/controlling of fill levels:

Fill level sensor for continuous fill level measurement
–
2 limit switches for the monitoring and controlling of a
fill level
–
1 limit switch with a timed overrun at the switch-point
•
The device has 2 independently adjustable relay outputs.
•
The device can be integrated into a superordinate control
system.

General safety instructions
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused
by disregarding any of the documentation.
1.1
Intended use
The device monitors pumps and shuts them off when they
exceed or fall below a specified threshold value. The device
monitors and controls fill levels.
•
The device must only be used for monitoring pumps and
filling levels in liquid media.
•
Adhere to the operating limits (→ Data sheet).
•
Use suitable sensors (→ operating instructions).

Observe the following regulations before carrying out any
work.

Obligations of the operating company
Safety-conscious operation

Only operate the device if it is in perfect technical condition
and only use it as intended, staying aware of safety and
risks, and in adherence to the instructions in this manual.

Ensure that the following safety aspects are observed and
monitored:

Statutory or other safety and accident-prevention reg-
ulations

Safety regulations governing the handling of haz-
ardous substances
–
Applicable standards and guidelines in the country
where the pump is operated
The

Make personal protective equipment available.
Qualified personnel
•
Make sure all personnel tasked with work on the device
have read and understood this manual and all other appli-
cable documents, especially the safety, maintenance and
repair information, before they start any work.
•
Organize responsibilities, areas of competence and the
supervision of personnel.
•
The following work should be carried out by specialist tech-
nicians only:
–
Installation, repair and maintenance work
–
Work on the electrical system
•
Make sure that trainee personnel only work on the device
under supervision of specialist technicians.
1.2.2
Obligations of personnel
•
Only work on the device when the power supply is discon-
nected.
•
For all installation and maintenance work, disconnect the
device from the mains and secure against being switched
back on again.
•
Do not make any modifications to the device.
