Retention Ring
Make sure the correct retention ring is installed on the pump / cooler. Both Intel and AMD retention rings are
included with your CLX, with the Intel ring preinstalled.
F Intel Retention Bracket LGA 17XX / 12XX / 115X (Pre-installed)
AMD Retention Bracket AM5 / AM4

To change the retention ring, push down on ring and turn counter-clockwise to remove the ring from the pump.

Pump Installation

Thermal paste is pre-applied to the contact surface of the pump. Install the pump by aligning the mounting
holes on the retention ring with the standoffs and lower the pump evenly over the CPU. Secure the
retention ring using screw nuts part I .
