9 Troubleshooting
Use the instructions that follow to resolve occurrences that are not a result of defective workmanship or materials.
Problem
The flow is insufficient or
nonexistent.
The pressure is low.
The pump is no longer
primed.
The pump is using an
excessive amount of power.
The pump is vibrating or
making a loud noise.

10 Disposal

Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins, whenever possible. Consult a local

recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to dispose of the product in accordance with all
applicable national and local regulations.

Possible Cause
There is an air leak in the suction piping.
The pump has not been primed.
The head pressure for the system is higher
than expected.
There is a closed valve.
The viscosity or specific gravity
too high.
The suction lift is too high or there is
insufficient NPSH.
There is a clog in the inlet line or pump.
The hoses, condensing coil, or intake speed
scoop might be restricted.
There is air in the liquid that is running
through the pump.
The water valve is not open all the way.
The head pressure in the system is lower than
expected.
The impeller
assembly is worn or fouled.
There is a leak in the suction piping.
The voltage is too low.
The pump is cavitating from improper suction
or feed. Debris and/or worn parts is causing
mechanical binding
The pump is not mounted securely.
Check the pipe connections and tighten the seals.
Ensure the pump head is filled with fluid before starting.
Check the application requirements; a larger pump may
be required. See "Flow Rate" on page 8.
Open the suction and discharge valves, if installed.
of the fluid is
Check the fluid for mud, silt, sand, or other fine
particulates.
Ensure the proper inlet pressure. The pump should be
below water level.
Check the inlet strainer and pump lines, and remove
debris.
Check the hoses, condensing coil, or intake speed
scoop for marine growth and clean as necessary.
Check for leaks in hoses, fittings, and the pump O-ring
on the inlet side of the pump
Open the seacock and any other valves in the system
completely.
Check the application requirements; a smaller pump
may be required. See "Flow Rate" on page 8.
Check the impeller
Check the pipe connections and tighten the seals.
Check the power output to ensure it is maintaining the
proper voltage.
Ensure the proper inlet pressure is maintained. Check
the inlet strainer and the pump lines, remove debris,
and/or replace worn or binding parts.
Use vibration isolators between the pump mount and
the mounting surface.
