4. OPERATION
4.1. Replacing the battery
Push the battery from above into the battery slot until it locks in place (figure A).
4.2. Removing the battery

Release the lock and remove the battery (figure B).
4.3. Querying the battery status
Press the query button on the battery (figure C). Note also the separate instruction
manual for the battery�
4.4. Flashlight function of the battery
To switch on the flashlight function, press the query button on the battery twice in
quick succession (figure C). To switch it off, press the query button again. The pur-
pose of the flashlight function is to help you locate the battery compartment.
4.5. Switching on and adjusting the light intensity

To switch the HURST SCOUT on, press the switch (figure D). The light intensity
of the HURST SCOUT can be adjusted� The HURST SCOUT switches on with full
light intensity. Medium, Low and Spotlight modes are switched on by tapping the
switch forward�
5. SETTING UP THE HURST SCOUT
The HURST SCOUT can be set up differently according to the situation.
5.1. Setting up the HURST SCOUT on an even surface
Place the HURST SCOUT on an even surface� You can adjust the angle of the
cone of light in any position� (Figure E)�

5.2. Hanging the HURST SCOUT on an object
Hang the HURST SCOUT on a vertical object (e�g� a door) by hooking the feet
extensions over the object� You can adjust the beam angle� (Figure F)�
