WARNING:
To protect the device from damage, you need to observe general safety requirements such as the
following:
-
Examine the unit after installation.
-
The unit should not be plugged in if there is water on parts that are not intended to be wet.
-
Do not use the unit if the cord or plug is damaged or malfunctioning.
-
Do not operate the unit if the cord or plug is damaged, malfunctioning, or if it has been
dropped or damaged in any way.
-
To prevent the plug or receptacle from getting wet, place the aquarium stand and tank on the
side of a wall outlet to prevent water from dripping onto the plug or receptacle. A drip loop,
shown in the figure below, must be installed by the user for each cord connecting an
aquarium unit to an electrical outlet. The drip loop is the part of the cord below the level of the
outlet, or the connector if an extension cord is used, to prevent water from moving along the
cord and contacting the outlet.
-
If the plug or socket is wet, do not pull the plug out. Unplug the fuse or circuit breaker that
supplies power to the unit, then unplug it and check that there is no water in the outlet.
-
Do not install or store the unit where it will be exposed to the elements or to temperatures
below freezing.
-
If an extension cord is required, use one of the appropriate wattage. A cord with a lower
amperage or wattage than the unit may overheat. Make sure the cord is arranged so that it
cannot be tripped over or pulled.
-
If there is an obvious decrease in airflow, check the air filter wool at the bottom of the pump
for dirt. To clean it, use pliers to remove it, touch it with your fingers or simply blow it out.
Note : Some small air pumps are not equipped with filter wool.
-
Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet as soon as you are finished using it and before
disassembling or reassembling it.
-
Never pull on the cord to release it from the wall socket.
-
Pull the body of the plug out of the wall socket.
-
Use the product only for the specified purpose. The use of accessories is not recommended
(also those sold by the manufacturer of the device) and may cause dangerous accidents.
-
Install or place the unit in locations where it is protected from the weather and sub-zero
temperatures.
-
If an extension cord is needed, it should be tested and have sufficient amperage. If it doesn't
support the amperage or power (in watts), it can cause overheating.
-
If the unit does not produce enough bubbles, check the filter wool in the lower part of the
pump and check for impurities.
-
To clean them, use a pair of pliers and carefully remove the filter wool from the pump.
-
Remove dirt with your fingers or by air blast.
