Installation
WARNING: ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND/OR FIRE HAZARD. Failure to
obey the following warnings could result in death or serious injury:
•
Follow all wiring instructions supplied with replacement devices to ensure
proper installation.
•
Never alter the adapter or cordset connectors.
•
If the polarity warning indicator in the boat is activated, immediately
disconnect the adapter/cordset. Consult a qualified electrician to correct the
fault.

Sierra adapters and cordsets are compatible with all other brands of industry
standard inlets and adapters. All Sierra adapters and cordsets include a
threaded sealing ring for use with threaded inlets and adapters.
1.1
Connecting the power
1.
Turn off the power supply to the boat.

An LED located in the connector end glows red when the adapter/
cordset is powered. Always treat the adapter/cordset as if it is
powered, even if the LED is not lit.
2. Connect the adapter/cordset to the boat inlet.
3. Connect the adapter/cordset to the dock power receptacle.

4. Apply a soapy solution around the base of the ring as a lubricant.
5. Remove the connection ring taking care to prevent damage to the assembly.

The use of a screwdriver may be required to remove the connection
ring.

Maintenance

Failure to obey the following warnings could result in death or
serious injury:
•
Always disconnect the adapter or cordset from the power source prior to
performing maintenance.
•
If a connection shows signs of overheating, remove the adapter/cordset from
service immediately and inspect the system for further damage.
Components of this adapter/cordset are corrosion resistant however, periodic
cleaning and protecting of exposed parts can increase overall product life.
Before every use:
•
Inspect the adapter/cordset ends, boat inlet face, and the dock power
receptacle.
•
Check the adapter/cordset ends for discoloration which may indicate
overheating.
In the event of saltwater immersion:
1.
Rinse the adapter/cordset end with fresh water.
2. Shake or blow out any water.
3. Allow the adapter/cordset to air dry.
4. Coat the adapter/cordset end with an antioxidant spray.
When not in use, store the adapter/cordset indoors to maximize the cord life.

1.
Visually inspect the adapter/

3. If corrosion is found, replace the
adapter/cordset immediately.
