OPERATION
WARNING:
Risk of electric shock. When using a grounded appli-
ance, this tool will not provide an electrical path to earth
ground. Do not power devices with damaged or frayed
power cords.
WARNING:
If this product will be used only with cord and plug-
connected equipment, National Electric Code does not
require that the product be grounded. This product is not
suitable for any application that requires the product to
be grounded. Consult a qualified electrician, electrical
inspector, or local agency having jurisdiction for local
codes or ordinances to find out if grounding is needed
in your situation before using the product.
WARNING:
Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you
careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second
is sufficient to inflict serious injury.
WARNING:
Do not use any attachments or accessories not recom-
mended by the manufacturer of this product. The use
of attachments or accessories not recommended can
result in serious personal injury.
NOTICE:
Do not power this device with an outlet designated for
lighting cigarettes. If the 12V adaptor does not fit firmly
into the auxiliary power port, the receptacle is not suit-
able for use with the inverter. A poor connection at the
base of the 12V adaptor could lead to electrical prob-
lems in the vehicle outside of the protections offered by
the vehicle or inverter's fuse.
NOTICE:
Before each use, inspect the entire product for dam-
aged, missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts,
bolts, caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps
and do not operate this product until all missing or
damaged parts are replaced. Please contact customer
service or a qualified service center for assistance.
APPLICATIONS
You may use this product for the following purposes:
Operating and charging USB-powered devices
Supplying electrical power for operating compatible
electrical devices such as, but not limited to, lighting,
appliances, tools, motor load, small load switch mode
power supply, and fans
NOTE: This device is not compatible for use with ap-
pliances, power tools, air conditioners, sump pumps,
compressors, and/or other larger electrical devices.
The power inverter converts low voltage DC electricity to
120V AC household power allowing the user to charge and
power a variety of devices.
INSTALLING THE MOUNTING BRACKETS
See Figure 2.
The mounting brackets can be installed to provide a stable
base for the inverter. The unit can be used horizontally or
mounted vertically.
Insert tabs into slot.
Rotate 90 degrees.
CONNECTING TO A 20V BATTERY
See Figure 3.
To install: Place the battery into the inverter adaptor as
shown. Make sure the battery pack is secured on the
inverter adaptor before beginning operation.
To remove: lift off the battery pack.
CONNECTING TO A 12V AUTO ACCESSORY
OUTLET
See Figure 4.
The inverter will provide power using your vehicle's 12V DC
receptacle. NEVER use inverter with any 12V DC power
source that uses a positive ground.
NOTE: Some vehicles require the ignition to be turned on
before power is supplied to an accessory outlet. The HART
20V battery must be removed before attempting to connect
to a 12V DC power receptacle.
With the power inverter turned off, insert the connector
cord plug into the receptacle on the inverter.
Plug the 12V DC plug into the 12V DC receptacle.
NOTE: Some vehicles may stop power to the accessory
outlet when the vehicle's engine starter is engaged. Any
items connected to the power inverter may momentarily be
without power.
USING CAR BATTERY CLAMPS TO CONNECT TO
A 12V BATTERY
See Figure 5.
A set of car battery clamps is included with the inverter, one
for the black lead, and another for the red lead. When you
want the inverter to remain connected to the battery, but
want to keep your hands free for other operations, the car
battery clamps will hold the leads in place.
NOTE: The inverter is compatible with 12V lead-acid, lithium-
ion, and deep-cycle gel batteries. The inverter will shut off
automatically at 10.5V as part of under voltage protection.
