Ironing tips
•
Always check whether a ironing label is attached to the fabric. If no label provided but you know the
fabric material, please refer to the table below for reference.
•
The table below is not applicable to fabrics through special treatment (e.g. shining, frill, projecting,
etc.). Use low temperature to iron special fabrics.
•
Before ironing, classify clothes according to ironing temperatures. Delicate fabrics like wool fabrics
and cotton fabrics should be ironed separately.
•
The iron heats up faster than cooling down, therefore, start ironing the articles requiring the lowest
temperature, such as those made of synthetic fibres.
•
If the fabric consists of different kinds of fibres, ensure to select the lowest ironing temperature. If
not knowing fibre compositions, just try a corner piece to find out the best ironing temperature (Start
from low temperature until the optimal temperature is obtained).
•
Pure wool fabrics (100% wool) is recommended for steam ironing (Steam control at Max setting and
temperature control at moderate/higher setting). A dry cloth as a mat is recommended.
•
Velvet and other textures that rapidly become shiny should be ironed in one direction with light
pressure applied. Always keep the iron moving all the time.
•
Silk and other fabrics that are likely to become shiny should be ironed on the inner side. To prevent
staining, do not spray water straight on the surface.
