ATTENTION: Use unleaded petrol with an octane rating of 90 or higher. This engine is designed to
operate on unleaded gasoline. Unleaded gasoline produces less residues in the engine and spark
plug and extends the service life.
ATTENTION: The fuel can damage the paint and some type of plastic. Be careful not to spill the fuel
when refuelling the tank. Damage caused by spilling fuel is not covered by the guarantee. Never use
old or contaminated gasoline or an oil/gasoline mixture. Do not allow dirt or water to enter the fuel
tank.
ATTENTION:Occasionally you may hear a popping sound from the spark plug when you are
operating under heavy loads. This does not have to be cause for concern. If the spark plug or
popping sound occurs at a regular engine speed, or under a normal load, then change the fuel
brand. If the blow or popping sound from the spark plug persists, consult an authorised water
pump dealer.
AIR FILTER ELEMENT INSPECTION
Loosen the nut and remove the air filter cover. Inspect the air filter to make sure it is clean and in good condition.
Clean or replace the air filter element if necessary.
ATTENTION: Never run the engine without the air filter installed. If dust or dirt is trapped in the
engine, the polluting elements will cause a rapid wear of the engine.
INSPECTING THE PUMP WATER CAPACITY
Before operating the pump, make sure to fill it with sufficient water.
ATTENTION: Do not attempt to run the motor without water inside, otherwise the pump will
overheat. Prolonging the operation of the pump without water will damage the pump seal. If the
water runs out, stop the engine immediately and once it has cooled down, fill the pump again.
START-UP
1.
Turn the fuel cock lever to the ON position.
2.
Move the choke lever to the closed air position. Do not use the choke if the engine is hot or the ambient
temperature is high.
3.
Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
4.
Move the throttle lever slightly downwards, just after the idle position.
5.
Pull the starter cord gently, and then pull more energetically. Do not allow the starting cord to bump with
the engine. Have it return into its position slowly to prevent startup damage.
6.
Once the engine starts, move the choke lever to the open air position.
