OPERATION FOR THE INSTALLER
The ambient unit QAA70 has another pro-
gramming level, which allows the technician
to make additional choices on the operating
– To activate the programming
level of the technician
– Device address for the PPS interface
– Device identification
– Lock of final user programming level 2
– Input function D3/D4
– Operating mode of the
external contact
– Influx of the ambient
temperature external probe
– Display of setpoint
parameters.
This level can be activated only by pressing
a combination of keys.
Press at the same time keys
gramming level for the technician. Then, select by the same arrow keys the single input lines
and adjust values by keys
This line is used to set the address PPS (for unit QAA70 connected with regulators
51
RVA. The default address 1 should not be changed).
The display shows the status of the PPS:
– Colon flashing at one second interval: communication OK
– Steady of missing colon: ready to communicate
– Steady hyphens: communication interrupted
52
The display shows identification number and software version.
By activating this block (parameter 53 = 1) all the parameters can be displayed but
53
not changed. By operating keys
WARNING: To disable temporary the lock, press at the same time the keys
for at least five seconds. To remove permanently the operating lock, set para-
meter 53 to 0.

The programmable input (clamps D3 and D4) allows enabling 3 different functions.
The parameter has the following meaning:
1 = if an external probe type QAW44 is connected, the display shows the tem-
perature of the external probe
( _ _ = no probe connected, function disabled).
2 = By using an external contact, it is possible to make changes on the reduced
temperature. The display shows the current state of the external contact
(0 0 0 = contact closed
3 = An external contact may be used to modify the anti-freeze protection tem-
perature.. The display shows the current state of the external contact (0 0
0 = contact closed
AL = this function is not used.
If input D3/D4 is connected to an external contact with zero potential, (parameter
56
55= 2 or 3), it is possible to determine the operating mode of the contact (breaker
of the phone or window contact). The operating mode specifies the contact state
where the desired function is enabled.

Determines the mixing ratio between internal and external ambient probe, when

parameter 55=1.
0 %
= only internal probe active (0% external, 100% internal)
50 % = average value of internal + external probe
100 % = only external probe active
The set mix is used for ambient regulation and displaying. If the external probe has
a short circuit or a cut, the internal probe continues operating.
This setting switches programming lines 1 and 2 (normal/reduced temperature)

from the absolute display of the temperature to the relative display.
By closing the cover the setting level is exi-
ted and the data are saved.
