3.2. Operating Instructions
Pre-Start Checklist
Hazard control and accident prevention are dependent upon the awareness, concern,
prudence, and proper training involved in the operation, transport, storage, and
maintenance of the mower. Therefore, it is absolutely essential that no one operates
the machine without first having read, fully understood, and become totally familiar
with the Operator's Manual. Make sure the operator has read and paid particular
attention to:
• Usage safety
• Assembly & Set-up
• Operating Instructions
• Adjustments
• Maintenance & Lubrication
Make sure the operator has completed the Operating Checklist below.
Check
Read and follow all safety information carefully.
Refer to "Usage safety".
Make sure all guards and shields are in place.
Refer to "Usage safety".
Read and made all required adjustments.
Refer to "Adjustments".
Read and follow all operating procedures.
Refer to "Operating Instructions".
Read and follow all Maintenance Instructions.
Refer to "Maintenance & Lubrication".
Read and follow all Lubrication Instructions.
Refer to "Lubrication Points".
Check mower initially and periodically for loose bolts and pins.
Be sure all lock nuts and bolts are tight. Especially make sure blade bolts are tight.
Refer to "Torque Values Chart for Common Bolt Sizes".
Tractor Shut Down Procedure
It is essential that the tractor be shut down as noted below before making any
inspections, maintenance and/or repairs to the tractor and/or mower.
1. Park tractor on a level surface. Don't work under or around an implement parked
on a steep incline.
