• Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the
handles.
• Do not let the cable come into contact
with the hot parts of the appliance.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water
or any other liquid.
• Be careful with sharp knives and the
knives you are going to sharpen.
• Make sure that only the blade of the
knife comes into contact with the
wheel.
• Never insert your fingers into the wheel.
• Do not use the sharpener with knives
with jagged edges.
4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The sharpener is equipped with a wheel (2)
with 20 ceramic rollers (3) forming an X shape.
The wheel rotates at a speed of 330 rpm.
The ceramic rollers ensure that the knife is
sharpened effectively and to a high standard.
• Place the appliance on a flat and stable
surface and plug it into the power socket.
• Press the switch (1) so that the wheel (2)
begins to rotate. The wheel will rotate for
as long as the switch is pressed down.
• Place the blade of the knife (specifically the
part nearest to the handle) into the wheel
by pressing lightly and gently pulling the
knife towards you (fig. B) for approximately
3 or 4 seconds whilst pressing down the
switch (1). If you press too hard, the blade
of the knife will knock against the black
edge of the wheel (2) and this will mark the
blade.
• Once you have performed this procedure
3 to 5 times, check that the knife has
been sharpened sufficiently. Repeat
the procedure until the knife has been
sharpened to the desired degree.
• Once you have finished, unplug the
appliance and wash the knife in soapy
water. Be careful with recently sharpened
knives.
• NB: In the case of very blunt knives or
those with damaged blades, they will need
to be sharpened using a more aggressive
method, in which case we recommend you
to have them sharpened professionally.
5. CLEANING
Clean the outside of the sharpener with a
damp cloth and dry it off.
Clean the wheel (2) with a small brush (a
toothbrush, for example), keeping it on
the wheel as you press the switch and the
wheel rotates.
If you wish to remove the dust that is
produced during the sharpening operation
and which gathers inside the sharpener,
unscrew the cover underneath the
appliance and shake it or use a vacuum
cleaner to remove the dust that may be
present around the opening. Always unplug
the appliance from the power socket before
removing the cover. Replace the cover and
screw it back on.
6. INFORMATION FOR THE CORRECT
DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND
ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES
At the end of its working
life, the product must not be
disposed of as urban waste.
It must be taken to a special
local authority differentiated
waste collection centre or to a
dealer providing this service.
Disposing of a household appliance separately
avoids possible negative consequences for
the environment and health deriving from
inappropriate disposal and enables the
constituent materials to be recovered to obtain
significant savings in energy and resources.
To remind you that you must collaborate with a
selective collection scheme, the symbol shown
appears on the product warning you not to
dispose of it in traditional refuse containers.
For further information, contact your local
authority or the shop where you bought the
product.
